A player cannot carry the ball for more than 3 steps without bouncing or passing the ball; they can dribble or bounce it to themselves but not throw it into the air and catch it themselves.

Players must run facing forward but can run backwards to pass or bounce the ball.
|

The ball must be passed to the point person before a new player is added to the formation
|
|
|
The ball must be bounce passed by a player in the formation to each new player added to the formation.
|

|
When all of the player have joined the formation the ball must be passed through the formation from front to back with at least one bounce pass each time the ball moves through the formation

The ball is allowed to bounce three times before being caught.
|
|
|
The run in place recovery – One person from the team leaves the formation to recover the ball, while the formation jogs in place, that player returns the ball to the formation and falls in of the back of the line, the jog resumes upon returning the ball to the point person.

The whole formation fault – when a pass is missed , more than three bounces, the whole formation is lost and a straight line is formed behind the point person.

Jog ball can also be played as a multiple team sport in which teams compete for the best time or the most amount of laps without a fault.
