As a trainer this nearly indestructible hollow core vinyl ball is the ideal tool for training catchers to block wild pitches. In batting, its naturally tacky surface will help a player learn accuracy by reading the spin on the ball. A Sofety Ball™ that is hit squarely will fly true, while one that is hit above center will spin forward when it hits the ground. A ball that is hit below center will come back toward the batter when it hits the ground.
